Description

We have paid particular attention to the native Albanian grape variety called Sheshi i Zi, as we are convinced that this variety has the right potential to offer a competitive wine on the global market, provided it is treated with the utmost care. For this reason, we select the grapes with great care from the best vineyards located in the hills around Durres, where exposure, layout and soil are fundamental to guarantee their perfect maturation. Thanks to the right attention and an appropriate fermentation technique, we are able to create a complete wine accompanied by the characteristic aromas of the grape variety.

This wine is the result of a rigorous selection of the highest quality Shesh i Zi grapes, carefully hand-picked. Fermentation is carried out for approximately 15 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature.

Sheshi i Zi is an indigenous variety from the Çizmeli area, Durres, which has produced a wine with an intense ruby color and clear aromas of overripe red fruits. We recommend consuming it at a temperature between 18 and 20°C, preferably combined with roast meats and mature cheeses.

"Kantina Alimani," a family-owned winery, is located in Tirana. It was founded in 2016 by the two brothers Rezart and Erjon, with the continued support of their father Ramazan. Ramazan and Rezart Alimani are returning to Albania after their experience in Italy at one of the most prestigious wineries in Rome, Poggio Le Volpi. Ramazan arrived at this winery in 2001, taking care of various jobs in the vineyards. Five years later, Rezart joined him. The close relationship he had with his grandfather Kasem Kaleci - Agronomist, fueled in him a great love for nature. As soon as he arrived in Rome in 2006, Rezart was immediately involved in the work and processes inside the winery. His love of work and passion for wine translated into their winery, new in name but rich in experience.
