    Description

Plaku is a natural red wine from the Vlorë, Albania area, created by blending 50% Shesh i Zi (black grapes) and 50% Vlosh (red grapes). This traditional blend was developed using ancient winemaking techniques observed by locals, who noted that Shesh i Zi had intense color, while Vlosh offered high acidity but little color. The grapes ferment spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, without temperature control, and undergo maceration on the skins for 30 days in steel containers. After fermentation and natural decantation, the wine matures in 1000 liter Castelli Romani chestnut barrels for 14 months, with 6 months on the yeasts. It then refines in the bottle for 6 months at a constant temperature of 12°C.

This unfiltered, unclarified wine contains no added sulphites, offering a true expression of the land and traditional methods used by the people of Vlora.
