Medaur Winery, Koplik: Kallmet From the Shores of Lake Shkodër

Kantina Miqësia, which most people know as Medaur, has made wine in Koplik since 2003. Miqësia means friendship. The winery is run by Ramadan Likaj, and its 50 hectares of vines sit near the shore of Lake Shkodër, in the far north of the country, where there are few other wineries.
We have worked with Medaur since 2022. They are among the most organized people we work with and always reachable, which matters a great deal to a small company shipping wine abroad. As one of the few wineries in the area, they also bring steady work to Koplik.
Their best known wines are made from Kallmet and Shesh i Zi, and they also grow Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Trebbiano. Everything is fermented and aged in stainless steel, with no barrels at all, so the fruit comes through as it is.
