Alimani Winery, Tirana: A Family Cellar Built on Years in Rome
Ndaj
Tirana
In 2001, Ramazan Alimani went to work in the vineyards of Poggio Le Volpi, one of the best known wineries around Rome. His son Rezart followed him there in 2006 and went straight into the cellar. Rezart had grown up close to his grandfather, Kasem Kaleci, an agronomist, and it was from him that he got his love of the land. Years later, father and son came home, and in 2016 Rezart and his brother Erjon founded Kantina Alimani in Tirana, with their father's experience behind them.
They make only a handful of wines and keep the volumes small: a Shesh i Bardhë, a Shesh i Zi, and a Merlot. We started working with them in 2022.

The Shesh i Zi has a following of its own. One of our customers had a bottle sent to him in Australia, then wrote to tell us it had become his favorite wine. We also brought Alimani to our Connecticut event.
