Musai Olive Oil, Vlorë: Award Winning Organic Kalinjot Olive Oil

The Musa family has grown olives near Vlorë for a long time, and in 1995 they started producing olive oil as a business, Musaj Olive Oil. Today the mill can press up to 400 tons in a season, from October to December, for buyers in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Bruna Musa runs the company and Kejda Musa handles marketing. We started working with them in 2023.
They use only one variety, Kalinjot, which is native to the hills around Vlorë. The olives are organic and picked by hand, then cold pressed soon after harvest. The oil smells of green almond and fresh leaves, with a note of artichoke and a peppery finish.
In 2026, Musai won a gold award at the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the largest olive oil competition in the world. The family has won around 20 international gold medals in total.
