Duka Winery, Durrës: A Family Vineyard and Table Near Tirana

Enver Duka started this winery in 2004, at Lalëz in the Ishëm area outside Durrës, a short drive from Tirana. His family runs it today and still speaks of him as the man who began its story, and their Grandfather's Raki is made in his memory. Duka was one of our first partners, in 2022, and from the beginning the family has been generous with their time and easy to work with.

The 5.5 hectares of vines spread out like an amphitheater, sheltered by forest and cooled by winds from the south. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo are grown organically, alongside the native Shesh i Bardhë. Their Reserve blends the three reds, and the Reserva Superiore matures in barrels made from oak of the Tronçais forest in France. The Tempranillo is the one we usually pour first: dark ruby, with blueberry, mint, and violets, and a warm, rounded body.
Down the hill from the vines, by the lake, is the family's restaurant, where the food is cooked to go with the wine. We have done several events with Duka over the years, and their wine has been consistent every time.
