From the gentle slopes of Kavajë, one of the strongest wine areas well-known for its wines of excellence, follows in every glass a wine produced from the vineyards of Golemas: Shesh i Zi Kavaljon 2017, by Belba Winery. It represents the climax of the winemaking art of the region and is an autochthonous Albanian red wine with an aromatic profile that is out of this world, enchanting for one's senses.
Variety and terroir
Shesh i Zi Kavaljon is the fruit of the ancient native variety Shesh i Zi, grown in the vineyards of Golemas, Kavajë. Belba winery, with deep roots in the Albanian territory, is able to capture the soul of this grape and convey it in a full-bodied and complex wine, an expression of the unique terroir of the area.
Method of production
This wine is the result of careful fermentation and a long maturation of 36 months in French oak barrels, which lends poignancy and elegance. The prolonged maceration ensures that this Shesh i Zi Kavaljon 2017 develops an original flavor profile with a perfect balance between alcohol, acidity and tannins.
Organoleptic characteristics.
Deep ruby in color, Shesh i Zi Kavaljon 2017 offers intense aromas of dark cherries, wild fruits and floral nuances. During the Balkans International Wine Competition & Festival, in the year 2020, Shesh i Zi Kavaljon was awarded a Gold Medal in recognition of its quality and flavor profile.

Excellent combination with red meat dishes, roasts, game. It goes very well with aged cheeses too. Serving Temperature: It is at its best if served at 16-18°C, highlighting the complexity of this wine.
