    Description

Papaz 2017 by Belba Winery is a limited edition red wine from Albania, an unusual journey for the taste buds, which celebrates in harmony the local Kabjuro grape with the renowned Bordeaux varieties. This is clear evidence of the quality imparted by the center of Albania-a truly different sensory experience that deservedly won the Silver Medal in the 2022 Balkan Wine Competition.

    Varietal and terroir
Produced from the vineyards of Golemas Kavajë, Papaz 2017 embodies the rich winemaking tradition. Even its name is taken from a small pudding mini-lagoon located right next to the vineyard and immediately shows the close relationship between the wine and its terroir. The prized Kabjuro grape variety combines with Bordeaux to create a wine with a unique and distinctive character.

    Method of production

Meticulously produced by Belba Winery, this 2017 Papaz was aged in oak barrels, to which it lends elegance and depth. The winemaking process enhances the balance between acidity, young tannins and aromatic intensity, transforming it into a complex and well-structured wine.

    Organoleptic characteristics.

Papaz 2017 stands out for its elegant aromas of violets, cinnamon, black currant leaves, blackberry and toasty oak. Intense on the palate, this is a wine of ripe blackberry and plum flavors; lively acidity cuts through, along with well-defined tannins. The finish is long and evidences attention to detail and dedication to its production.

    Awards and Recognition

It was awarded a Silver Medal in the high prestige competition, the Balkan Wine Competition 2022-a tribute to the quality of this wine and the mastery of Belba Winery.

    Pairings and serving temperature

Perfect with red meat dishes and aged cheeses, Papaz 2017 is at its best when served at a temperature between 16 and 18°C. Ideal for special occasions and fine dinners, this wine invites you to discover a new frontier of Albanian wine.
