Herta Winery, Durrës: A Family Raki Finished With Honey and Wild Fruit

Herta is the Osmani family's winery, on the road from Durrës toward the Bay of Lalëz and Cape Rodon, near the lakes of Karreç. The family planted their vineyards around Maminas and grow Shesh i Bardhë, Shesh i Zi, Trebbiano, Merlot, and Cabernet. Hamdi Osmani is a real character, and people who meet him tend to remember him. We started working together in 2024.
Herta makes wine, but what we carry is their raki.
Rakia e Shefit Dod is a tribute to the winery's founder. It is distilled from Muscat wine, then finished with honey, sour cherry, and hawthorn, which gives it a depth closer to a whisky than to the clear raki most people know.
The bottle is some of the best looking packaging we have seen on an Albanian raki, which makes it an easy gift.
