Pulëz Rroshnik 2018 from UKA Winery is a very rare and exceptional Albanian white wine, produced from the Pulëz grape variety native to the Berat area, specifically from the village of Rroshnik, considered the oldest origin of this unique grape. The vineyard is located in a forest at 600 meters above sea level, where for decades the grapes grew freely and were mainly consumed by wild boars, who favored them as a preferred snack. The Pulëz vines grew wild, climbing trees before locals began harvesting them, giving this wine an extraordinary natural heritage.
Aroma and Flavor Profile
Pulëz Rroshnik 2018 displays an intense golden color with a lively and fresh aromatic profile of white fruits. Its structure allows for aging, developing increasing complexity over the years. The perfect balance between fruitiness and acidity makes this wine ideal with light dishes.
Production Method
The Pulëz grapes are hand-picked from a small forest vineyard. After harvest, the grapes are transported in 20 kg crates under cold conditions to preserve freshness. After pressing, the grapes ferment at a controlled temperature for 12–15 days, followed by one month of battonage and one year of natural settling in stainless steel tanks. After filtration, the wine is bottled to ensure absolute purity and clarity.

Pulëz Rroshnik 2018 pairs exceptionally well with fish and seafood, as well as pasta dishes. Its versatility makes it an excellent choice for a wide range of Mediterranean cuisine. Serve at 12°C to fully appreciate its freshness and delicate flavors, which complement lighter dishes.

With only 5,000 bottles produced annually, this is definitely a wine every enthusiast of indigenous grapes and natural viticulture should try.
