Our special edition wine, Cëruja, is a unique grape variety that grows in the remote mountainous area of Mat in Albania. The naturally isolated village of Cëruja protected this variety from phylloxera and today the vines are ungrafted and completely pesticide-free, growing wild and harvested by hand.
The vines are between 70 and 100 years old and each vine produces approximately 100 kg of grapes with a high concentration of sugar. The resistant skin of the berries is very rich in components that contribute to creating a wine with the highest parameters.
UKA is the sole producer of this wine and has developed exclusive winemaking techniques to bring out the uniqueness of this ancient vine and its full potential in terms of aromas and flavour. Cëruja has surprising potential to age for up to 10 years, has a pale yellow color with a tendency towards green and fruity flavors of apple, pear, citrus, strawberry, cream and vanilla, with notes of yeast and hazelnut. The taste is long-lasting and balanced in the mouth, with a multitude of aromas offering a unique tasting experience.
Cëruja pairs perfectly with fine dishes such as fois-gras, truffle cheese, oysters and caviar.
